PREA Report for Alachua Academy
Alachua Academy is a high risk facility that provides specialized treatment to 24 adolescent females that have been committed to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. Alachua Academy is dedicated to excellence in providing mental health treatment to females between the ages of 14 t0 18. The program prides itself in the use of evidenced based programming and behavior management that is reflective of the most current research. Alachua Academy excels in developing young women into productive individuals through the focus on family, morals, values, and healthy living. Through the course of nine to twelve months young women at Alachua Academy will receive specialized treatment for an array of behavior problems, mental health and substance abuse overlay services, educational and vocational services, and comprehensive transitional and discharge planning. Our mission is to maintain safety in the community through effective holistic treatment of the youth. This is achieved through the use of a positive peer culture that fosters respect, individuality, and enhances the strengths of each young women that it serves.
